About Bourner's Orchards
Welcome to Bourner's Orchard web site.

All of the fruit is handpicked by the owner Bruce.  He cares for the fruit and trees
from January through August of each year preparing the trees for the harvest.  The
fruit is available to purchase at his stand from August through December (unless
the season starts late or he sells out early).

We welcome you to call Bruce first if it is not during the months of August through
December at (269) 375-6208.  Even in August, it is still good to call ahead,
because those peaches are fussy and not always ready on time.  Apples are not
always predictable either.
FAQ
Is U-pick available?

U-pick is NOT available at Bourner's Orchard.

Is this an organic orchard?

This orchard is a semi-organic orchard, at least that's what we call it. Bruce uses
as few chemicals on the orchard as possible. All of which are ordered in
accordance to the FDA or higher standards. The fruit is raised with enormous
tender care and that includes some spraying to prevent disease and insect
infestation. It also includes at least six months worth of trimming the trees to
keep them healthy for future production.

What does a bushel look like?
  • For apples one bushel typically = 2 grocery bags.
  • 1/2 bushel = 1 grocery bag.
  • Peck = 1/2 grocery bag.
  • Some paper bags are made smaller now. Might want to ask Bruce how
many he can get in a bag.
  • For peaches, they tend to be put in twice as many bags so that they don't
    squish each other.
